The Celebrity Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Who Created the Most Viral Met Gala 2019 Looks Are Ready for a Comeback
Since 1971, the Met Gala, generally scheduled on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, continues to tease our imagination pushing forward the boundaries of fashion. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Costume Institute, 2021 Met gala will be a two-part exhibition that pays homage to American Fashion. Part one of the exhibitions will take place on Monday, September 13, and the second gala on May 2, 2022. Lupita Nyong’o was makeup artist Nick Barose’s muse in a beauty look inspired by camp icon Divine and John Waters’ movies. He played up the brows and eyes by exaggerating them and make them look a lot larger, almost cartoonish. The graphic effect was achieved with 3 shades of glitter strong black liner, and long feathery lashes. Hairstylist Vernon Francois completed the look with a sculpture-adorned bouffant.
