Since 1971, the Met Gala, generally scheduled on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, continues to tease our imagination pushing forward the boundaries of fashion. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Costume Institute, 2021 Met gala will be a two-part exhibition that pays homage to American Fashion. Part one of the exhibitions will take place on Monday, September 13, and the second gala on May 2, 2022. In the meantime, let’s revisit the last Met Gala boasting the most over-the-top, outlandish “campy” beauty looks ever!

Lady Gaga did her own fashion “striptease” on the steps of the MET, with her beauty look making waves. Makeup artist Sarah Tanno combined extraordinary false lashes with foil spikes and tinsel, a black & white winged eyeliner, silver crystals, and a Schiaparelli-pink lipstick the artist touched up near the end of her silent performance. Hairstylist Frederic Aspiras met the high-drama standards with bow-shaped knots atop a platinum blond wavy bob.
