An unconventional upbringing and an affinity to art at a young age have shaped hairstylist Andre Saavedra’s creative vision. He was born in Chile and raised in Sweden where he made friends with two older hairstylists who got him interested in the profession. After getting a degree in Fine Arts, Andre found his means of expression through cutting, coloring, and styling hair. His career began with an apprenticeship in a well-known salon in Stockholm called Klippoteket. He quickly turned to work as a freelancer and moved to Paris eventually. Andre derives his inspiration from street styles and ethnic hairstyles, both of which are reflected frequently in his work. Today, he has built a great portfolio for himself which includes publications like Dansk, CR Fashion Book, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel Paris, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Marie Claire. He has also worked on campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Dior, H&M, Carhartt, Balmain, and Givenchy. Andre finds his thrill in creating something new out of absolutely nothing. Styling hair gives him a chance to explore and express his creative side.
