World famous for their hard rock numbers, Velvet Revolver was an American supergroup formed by the former members of the Guns N' Roses fame. There was Slash as the lead guitarist, Duff McKagan the bassist and backing vocalist, Matt Sorum at the drums, also managing the backing vocals, Scott Weiland the vocalist and Dave Kushner the rhythm guitarist. Kushner was a former member of the punk band Wasted Youth, while Weiland had joined the group after he left Stone Temple Pilots. In 2003 the band signed with RCA Records and debuted with the album Contraband (2004). It topped US Billboard 200 with over 4 million copies in sales. In addition there were four singles by the band including ‘Slither’ that won them the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance besides topping the Billboard Alternative Songs charts as well as the Mainstream Rock charts. Some of the group’s other hit singles include ‘Come On, Come In’, and ‘tears in heaven’. The band has two studio albums, eight music videos, 2 video albums, 11 singles and one EP to its credit.
