Uzoamaka Nwaneka Aduba is an American actress of Nigerian origin. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 10, 1981. She graduated from Medfield School. She attended Boston University on an athletic scholarship but turned to act. She studied classical voice and drama, also competed in athletics. Aduba began to gain popularity and renown while performing at the Olney Theater Center for the Arts (2003). Her Broadway debut was in 2007, she then had her first television appearance with a nurse character in "Blue Bloods" (2012).
