Formed in 1996 the musical trio named ‘Trick Pony’ is majorly inspired by the 70’s country songs, especially outlaw country and country-rock. Trick Pony the contemporary country band was co-founded by Keith Burns (lead guitar and vocal), Ira Dean (upright bass, bass guitar, and vocals), and Heidi Newfield (acoustic guitar, lead vocals, and harmonica). For the first 4 or 5 years, Trick Pony used to cover famous songs and performed in local clubs and bars to advance their music skills and test their cohesiveness as a group. The group gradually started adding originals to their performances and tasted success. Soon in 2001, they debuted with their self-titled album signed with Warner Bros, Nashville. Their first album got certified as Gold. Later in 2002 and 2005, they released their second and third albums named ‘On A Mission’ and ‘R.I.D.E.’ respectively. In 2006, Aubrey Collins filled the position of the lead vocal after Newfield left the group. The group however was officially disbanded in 2008 but reunited in 2013. Ira Dean once again left the group in 2014, and they released one more album, ‘Pony Up’, in 2016 through Permian Records.
