Born in Montreal, Canada, Thomas Tait is one of the youngest designers in the industry to achieve such stature. His passion for creativity and design-led him to develop his own interpretation of modern aesthetics when he was a student at the London Central St Martins College. He was also the youngest student to finish their MA program. Right after graduating from college, Tait ventured into womenswear with his own collection along with the London Wilkinson Gallery in 2010, which won him the Inaugural Dorchester collection price, as well as a sponsorship scheme from British Fashion Council’s Newgen. One of Tait’s many attributes that led to his success was his willingness to be hands-on and supervise every aspect of his fashion shows, from lighting to the venue. Even though Thomas saw a lot of recognition from the public, his company eventually had to face bankruptcy, which led him to announce that he would no longer be doing fashion shows.
