Steven David Levitt, professionally known as Steven Levitt, is an American co-author, and Economist. He is famous for his book Freakonomics and all of its sequels. Steven co-authored these books with Stephen Dubner. Steven is also the winner of the John Bates Clark Medal in 2003. Levitt is also the Journal of Political Economy's co-editor, a book that was published by the University of Chicago Press. In 2009, Levitt co-founded TGG Group, a philanthropy and business consulting company. Time magazine added Steven in their 2006 list of 100 People Who Shape Our World and in 2011, an economic professor's survey gave Steven the tag of being the ‘Fourth Favourite Living Economist’ under the age of 60. Currently, Levitt is The Becker Center on Price Theory's Director and a William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor.
