Sarah Jene Burton is an English fashion designer and creative director of the Alexander McQueen fashion house. She was born in Macclesfield, England on July 1, 1974. She studied at Withington Girls' School and studied Art and Print Design at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design in London.Burton joined McQueen's team full time, as a personal assistant (1997). Three years later, Burton was appointed head of the women's clothing division. She designs dresses for Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others. After the death of Alexander McQueen (2010), Borton became the creative head of the brand. In 2011, she designed Kate Middleton's dress for her wedding to Prince William. Burton won the Designer of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards (2011). She was also named Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and others.
