Born on August 17, 1990, Rachel Clare Hurd-Wood is a British actress and model from Streatham, London. She is popularly known for her roles from 2003 Peter Pan as Wendy Darling and as Sibyl Vane in 2009 Dorian Gray. As she was in the University College of London studying linguistics, in 2009 she filmed an Australian action-drama — Tomorrow, When the War Began. She pursued acting and academics simultaneously. After shooting for 8 to 9 months on Peter Pan, she attended Godalming college from 2006 to 2008 to study Art, English Literature, Psychology, and Philosophy. One of her academic ambitions was to become a marine biologist because of her love for Dolphins. In 2008, Hurd-Wood did modeling for the publicity of Volstead Putsch, and she also posed for Raw Riddim Record to promote their merchandise. Due to Her continuous engagement in acting, she decided on quitting academics and pursuing acting as a full-time career.
