Rania Al-Abdullah, born Rania Al-Yassin, is the Queen Consort of Jordan. She was born on August 31, 1970, in Kuwait. She attended elementary and secondary school at New English School in Kuwait. She received her Bachelor of Business from the American University in Cairo.Rania became Queen of Jordan proclaimed by her husband Abdullah bin Al Hussein on March 22, 1999. She is a defender of the rights of polar bears, and she received from her husband the honorary rank of Colonel of the Forces Armed Forces of Jordan (2004). Rania was the youngest queen in the world, and she has made public appearances talking about the role of women in religion, just as she performs a series of activities based on the rights of women and children. She represents Jordan on official visits and events outside the country.
