Victoria Rowland, professionally and socially known as Plum Sykes, is a British fashion socialite, journalist, and novelist. The fashionista graduated from Worcester College, Oxford. The first term of her college years was so important to her that Sykes later wrote a book on it, named ‘Oxford Girl’, that got published in 2011. Sykes started her career as a fashion assistant at British Vogue in 1993. That year, she was featured in ‘Babes In London’, with a photoshoot by Steven Meisel with designer Bella Freud and model Stella Tennant. Sykes was appointed as a Contributing Editor on fashion for American Vogue in 1997. She has written three books, ‘Bergdorf Blondes’ in 2004, ‘The Debutante Divorcee’ in 2006, and ‘Party Girls Die in Pearls: An Oxford Girl Mystery’ in 2017. These books are said to be the inspiration behind the successful romantic comedy television series of HBO titled ‘Sex and the City’.
