Monique Péan is an American designer, with her craft primarily focused on fine jewelry. She is the Designer, Chairman, and CEO at ‘Monique Péan’. Péan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003. She used to work as an analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York City, before opening her jewelry line in 2006. The designer focused her brand on eco-friendly objects and fine jewelry and today her products are one of a kind. Péan is known for her use of unique cultural aesthetics and rare materials comprising fossilized walrus ivory, dinosaur bones, and other specimens in her creations. Her designs have been worn by the likes of Natalie Portman, Michelle Obama, Kerry Washington, Emma Watson, and John Legend. In 2016, Péan designed fine jewelry pieces for the film ‘La La Land’ working with director Damien Chazelle. The designer has also funded the construction of clean water supply and sanitation projects in Malawi, Ethiopia, Nepal, Mali, and India.
