Oxana Stefanivna Hrycaj, who goes by the stage name Mika Newton, is a Ukrainian actress and singer, born on March 5, 1986. Based  in Los Angeles, California, she originally came from the city of Burshtyn. She discovered her love for singing as a little girl and began to teach herself the skills of the craft imitating popular artists that she heard over the radio. She even invited friends over and performed for them. At the age of 16, she moved to Kyiv to pursue music more seriously at the College of Circus and Variety Arts where she enrolled at the Vocal Department. In 2011, she represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest and won by several points. She began her career making theme songs for Russian and Ukrainian films, earning the title, ‘Queen of Soundtracks.’ For her singles like ‘Come Out and Play’ and ‘Magnets,’ she was named SingerUniverse’s Best Vocalist of the Month in June 2013. The young star has made cover appearances in magazines like Chulo and MAXIM.
