Formula One racing champion Michael Schumacher was born in Germany in 1969. In 1984 Schumacher won his first Junior Kart Championship. In 1989 he joined the Formula Three team and won the title in 1990. Schumacher made his formula one debut with the Jordan team in 1991. His first victory came at the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix with the Benetton-Ford team. He got the Fastest Lap title and became the first to finish on the podium. In 1994 Schumacher won his first Drivers’ Championship. A year later, he became the second-time champion and the youngest ever to do so. Two years later, Schumacher joined Ferrari and got his first win for Ferrari at the Spanish Grand Prix. 1998 became the most successful year for Ferrari when Schumacher won six titles and had five podium finishes. From 2000 to 2004, he won the Italian, Japanese and Belgian Grand Prix and made a world record by winning six Drivers’ Championships. After he retired from Ferrari, Schumacher acted as advisor to the Ferrari CEO. He later came back to compete in Formula One but was not very successful.
