Meredith Vieira is an American television journalist who was born on December 30, 1953, in the USA. Her career as a broadcaster started with WJAT-TV. She received recognition as a reporter when she became a correspondent for several nationwide news-magazine shows, including 60 Minutes (1989-1991) and West 57th (1985-89). She was a co-anchor of the CBS Morning News for two years and is best known for being the original moderator of the renowned daytime talk show The View which aired from 1997 to 2006. She hosted the Miss America competition in 1998 and the Academy Awards for ABC in 2000. She also co-hosted the NBC morning news program Today, besides hosting the television series Intimate Portrait (1994-2005). Later, Meredith hosted her own daytime talk show called The Meredith Vieira Show from 2014 to 2016. She was the first host of the widely popular show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2002.
