Ahn Hye Jin, known as Maria Ahn is a Korean cellist musician. She was born on August 30, 1970, in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea. She was educated at the Juilliard Academy and a member of the Ahn Trio group. Ahn is the guiding, visionary force behind the unique voice of Ahn Trio.The trio has released 7 critically acclaimed albums at EMI Classics, Sony, and Warner. Ahn has been in high demand for performances, master classes, and workshops in various countries. They were called by the New York Newsday, the "Classic Revolutionaries." The trio was selected by People magazine as the three of the 50 most beautiful people (2003). The trio has been featured in Vogue, GQ, VISIONAIRE, and Glamor magazines. Ahn had the honor of playing at the White House for the Obamas (2011). They were invited to the iTunes Festival in the UK.
