Manolo Blahnik, a Spanish fashion designer was born on 27 November 1942. He is also the founder of Eponymous, a high-end shoe brand. Blahnik has never formally studied shoemaking. He learned the art with experience. He used to visit shoe factories and talk to technicians, pattern cutters, and machine operators. Blahnik started his journey with men's shoes, but soon he found that men's shoes lacked innovative design, so he shifted to women's shoes. He is most famous for reviving the sleek stiletto heel. There is also a documentary on his life titled Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards. He has received many awards and accolades. In 1987, Manolo won a Special Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, followed by another award for the best Accessory Designer of the Year in 1990, and The Stiletto in 1997. In 2018 he received the Luxury Legend Award by Walpole British Luxury Awards.
