Lapo Edovard Elkann is a philanthropist and businessman. He is also the grandson of Gianni Agnelli, the former controlling CEO of Fiat Automobiles. Lapo was the personal assistant to Henry Kissinger in 2001, and he was also working as the marketing associate for Maserati and Ferrari. Elkann was Fiat's Marketing Director in 2003 and was the man behind the coordination of marketing for Fiat 500 and Fiat Punto. In 2005, Lapo left Fiat and went on to create Italia Independent, which is a clothing and lifestyle brand that features Italian Products. 2007 saw the start of Independent Ideas, which is an advertising and communication agency founded by Elkann. Elkann then worked with Frida Giannini, who is the creative director of Gucci in 2011. They worked together to develop the Special Edition of Fiat 500 along with other projects. Lapo got Italia Independent listed on the Milan Stock Exchange in 2013.
