Keane is an English band based out of Sussex, which was formed, mostly as a cover band, in the year 1997. Associated with the genres of alternative rock, pop-rock, and soft rock, the band currently consists of Tom Chaplin as a lead vocalist and guitarist, Tim Rice-Oxley as a multi-instrumentalist, Richard Hughes as percussionist and drummer, and Jesse Quin as a bassist, guitarist, and vocal backup. The band gained mainstream recognition and commercial success with the release of their debut album ‘Hopes and Fears’ released in the year 2004. This album topped the UK charts and secured the band the Brit Award for the Best Album of the Year, 2005. Their second album, ‘Under the Iron Sea’ was equally successful. Some of their popular songs are ‘Everybody’s Changing’, ‘Bend And Break’, ‘Spiralling’, ‘Crystal Ball’, and ‘A Bad Dream’. They received several awards accolades including the Q Magazine award, the Premios Onda, and the Ivor Novello Awards.
