Born on 7 January 1957 in Virginia, United States, Katie Couric is a well-known writer, producer, and American broadcaster. She is best known as the co-host for NBC’s Today Show and as the first female solo anchor of the CBS evening news program. She started as an American broadcaster in 1979 after graduation from the University of Virginia. In 1986 she joined WRC, where she won the Associated Press Award and first of her many Emmy Awards. She was named among ‘25 Most Intriguing People of 2001’ by People Magazine. She is also a writer and producer of Shark Tale (2004) and Sully (2016). She drew record-breaking TRP when around 8.4 million people tuned in to watch her farewell episode on NBC Today. Multiple books have been written on Katie like ‘Katie Couric’ (2001) and ‘Katie: The Real Story’ (2007). She published her books ‘The Brand New Kid’ in 2000 and ‘The Blue Ribbon Day’ in 2004. She joined Yahoo as the global anchor in 2013.
