Born in El Colorado, Argentina, Jorge Gonzalez was the tallest man known to exist, with a height of 7 ft 7 inches. He was a center basketball player in his country and won the second-level championship. He then played in the National Basketball team from 1985 to 1998, after which he had to give up on basketball due to a knee injury that hindered his performance on the court. He signed with Ted Turner and became a part of WCW. He took up 'El Gigante' as his wrestler name. His fame as a wrestler led him to be a part of various shows and films like Swamp Thing (1992) and Hercules in the Underworld (1994). He participated in the World Wrestling Federation as Giant Gonzalez in 1993. After he departed from WWF, Gonzalez wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling and Wrestled Association R in 1994 and 1995. He passed away in 2010.
