Born in Miami, Florida, Jocelyn Cortez-Young is the CEO and Founder of Minerva Capital, a for-purpose investment fund founded in 2009. She has maintained her focus on integrating a portfolio that consists of companies working towards developing sustainable and innovative solutions that emphasized the conditions of the working labor. Cortez-Young graduated from New York University with a Bachelor's degree in Sciences and held a Master's degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University.  She had also worked as the senior head of the Citigroup Private Bank's Capital Markets. Her position required Joceyln to oversee capital market investments for high-profile clients with an investment portfolio of six billion dollars. She then went to work as an Equity Derivatives trader at Credit Suisse First Boston.
