Jill Soloway, currently known as Joey Soloway, is an award-winning American TV creator, director, writer and executive producer. A board member of the San Francisco Film Society, she is one of the most powerful voices of the industry supporting women rights today. Jill has a degree in communications arts from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. During her student years, she also studied film and TV under JJ Murphy. She started her career in TV writing with shows like ‘The Steve Harvey Show’ and ‘Nikki’. Her original HBO series, ‘Six Feet Under’ received Emmy nominations for three consecutive years for Outstanding Drama Series. She was honoured with a Golden Globe for her show, ‘Transparent’ in the year 2015. In the same year, she won a Primetime Emmy and a DGA Award for directing an episode of the same show. This series brought her fame and success with another Emmy in 2016. For her immense talent and her pathbreaking work, she was also listed among the top visionaries in Oprah Winfrey’s SuperSoul 100 list.
