Born in New York City on April 30, 1944, Jill Clayburgh began her acting career by participating in several stage productions in her school. She wanted to work as a professional performer and enrolled in the Charles Street Repertory Theatre in Boston. She made her theatrical debut with the 1968 Off-Broadway stage production of Israel Horovitz's 'The Indian Wants The Bronx' and 'It Is Called The Sugar Plum.' Around the same time, Clayburgh was also cast in the recurring role of Grace Bolt on the popular television drama series' Search For Tomorrow', which earned her some popularity among the audience. Jill Clayburgh finally made her on-screen debut with the 1969 feature film 'The Wedding Party,' written and directed by Bria De Palma. The fact that her performance stood out while being starred with Robert De Niro and Jennifer Salt earned Clayburgh a lot of respect from the critics. She passed away in 2010 at the age of 66.
