Born on 8th August 1964 in Dresden's East German town, Jan Josef Liefers is a German actor, musician, director, and producer all rolled into one. He started his career as an actor at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in 1987. Along with his theatrical performances, he appeared in minor roles in movies until 1996, where he landed the Helmut Dietl film ‘Rossini’. His work in the film was outstanding, and Jan received the Bayerischer Filmpreis award for his noteworthy performance. After this success, he has been a part of many films and TV series. Tatort, The Baader Meinhof Complex, and Baron on the Cannonball are some of his notable performances. He has been the winner of prestigious awards such as the Bambi Award (2003 and 2012), Adolf-Grimme-Preis (2004 and 2013), and Golden Camera (2011), among several others, for his performance and contribution to German films.
