Born on April 7, 1928, in Norman, Oklahoma, USA, James Scott Bumgarner was a famous face in the glamour world for being a remarkable actor and producer. In a series called Maverick (1950), his role as Bret Maverick is one of his most outstanding performances. His role as Jim Rockford in The Rockford Files (1970) had been critically praised widely. He shared the screen with co-celebrities like Noah Beery Jr. and Stuart Margolin. In The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (1954), he first had the chance to act, but he had no dialogues. This opportunity, however, led to several others for acting, and the Warner Brothers eventually noticed him. The Girl he Left Behind took place during that time, and he started getting a glimpse of fame and recognition in the world of cinema. Some of his most successful movies are Move Over, Darling (1963), The Thrill of it All (1963), and The Great Escape (1963).
