Popularly known as a director, producer, writer, and businessman Guy Stuart Ritchie was born on September 10, 1968, in Hertfordshire, England. He started directing and writing films in 1995 with the short film The Hard Case, which led to his debut film Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), which went on to win Film of The Year at BAFTAs and was nominated for three more awards in the BAFTAs. He went on to direct Snatch (2000), starring Brad Pitt, Swept Away (2002) starring Madonna, Revolver (2005), and RocknRolla (2008). He then directed the Sherlock Holmes series, including Sherlock Holmes (2009), which was nominated in the Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Art Direction and its sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows (2011) starring Robert Downey Jr. In 2015, he directed The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and in 2019 he directed Aladdin which became one of the highest-grossing films. He also directed The Gentlemen (2019) and Wrath Of Man (2021), starring Jason Statham.
