Bio

Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Jason Charles Beck was born on March 20, 1972.  He set out to become a pop star during the 90s and formed a band called 'Son' with fellow musicians Dominic Salle and Dave Szigeti. The band put out their debut album 'Thriller' in collaboration with Warner Brothers Music in 1995. However, they were dropped by the record label soon after, causing the band to split up. Beck decided to move to Berlin to work on his skills as a producer and composer. He eventually adopted the stage name 'Chilly Gonzales' and began collaborating with hip hop artists like Feist and Drake. His work on Feist's album 'The Reminder' was nominated for four Grammy Awards and won five Juno Awards. Apart from being a solo artist and composer, Gonzales is also a member of the pop-rock band 'Puppetmaztaz' and has written for notable magazines and newspapers like The Guardian, Billboard, and Vice.
