Born in 1950, Frances Ann Lebowitz, well-known as Fran Lebowitz, is an American public speaker, actor, and author. Fran is best-known for her commentary which is sardonic. She is also called the Dorothy Parker of the modern-day by some. Lebowitz went on with her life and she started working as a writer, where she then wrote in columns for magazines at the age of 21. During her journey to success, Fran made friends with several artists and acquaintances who helped her grow. 1978 was the year when Fran published her first book named Metropolitan Life, and she portrayed the details of her life in it. Following the success of her book, Fran became a popular local celebrity and she started making appearances on TV. Lebowitz then published a book which was a collection of many comedic essays. The book was named Social Studies and it was published in 1981.
