Born on September 9, 1976 in Paris into a family of artists, actress Emma de Caunes is the daughter of famous French director Antoine de Caunes. Naturally inclined to the entertainment industry, she started her career in 1988 in a short film directed by her godmother, Michele Reiser. This film, ‘Margot et le voleur d’enfants,’ where she played a central role earned her a lot of appreciation. Emma chased her passion for acting and received a French baccalaureate in films in 1995. She went on to appear in several advertisements before bagging her major film role with ‘Un Frere,’ which released in 1997. In the following year, this role earned her a Cesar award of Most Promising Actress. Her career includes different genres of work including music videos for songs like ‘Knives’ out. In 2002, her repertoire of work was recognized with a Priz Romy Schneider Award which is given to the most promising actors in the industry each year. It was the 2007 comedy, Mr. Bean’s Holiday that earned her global recognition for playing the role of an actress in an independent film.
