Elsa Benitez is a Mexican model and TV host born on December 8, 1977, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. She is an actress, known for Le Retour d'Arsène Lupin (1989), Mexico's Next Top Model (2009) and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful (2014). Elsa started her career after winning a model search contest in 1995, and soon Benitez began modelling in Mexico and then internationally. Within a year, she was on the cover of Vogue's Italian edition. From there, she appeared on the covers of Elle, Glamour and other top fashion magazines. She made a fashionable cover appearance on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 2001, then appeared in succeeding issues another five times. Elsa Benitez also hosted the television series Mexico's Next Top Model in 2009.
