American rock band, Dum Dum Girls started out as a simple bedroom project for singer Dee Dee but went on to become a sensation in the Indie rock genre. The band released their first album in 2008 under Dee Dee’s independent label, Zoo Music. But it was the following EP with HoZac Records that brought them into the limelight, earning them a contract with Sub-Pop. Their debut album hit the stands in 2010 and was described as “wonderfully associative” by online music publication, Pitchfork. The album, titled ‘I Will Be,’ was produced in association with Richard Gottherer who had worked with bands like The Go-Gos, Blondie, and Raveonettes. Two years later, the band released their second and most significant album titled ‘End of Daze,’ which was named ‘Best New Music’ by Pitchfork magazine. In 2016, they disbanded with Dee Dee moving on towards a solo project titled ‘Kristin Kontrol.’
