Duffy was born on 23 June 1984. She is a Welsh songwriter, singer, and actress who debuted in 2008 with the album Rockferry, a super hit. It became the best-selling album in the United Kingdom and won her massive fan following. One of the most successful songs of her career, Mercy, is also from her first album. In 2009, Duffy was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Rockferry. Her acting debut was in 2010 with the film Patagonia. In the same year, she released her second album, Endlessly, which was moderately successful. In 2011, Duffy announced her indefinite hiatus from the industry. She briefly appeared in a 2015 film, Legend, and contributed three songs to the film. She is yet to make a total return to music.
