Diana Jean Krall is a Canadian jazz singer, pianist, and songwriter. She was born on November 16, 1964, in Nanaimo, Canada. She studied at The Royal Conservatory of Music and Berklee College of Music. Krall joined a high school jazz band. Billboard magazine named her the jazz artist of the decade from 2000-2009.At 15 years old, she was playing in restaurants and began to sing. In 1981 she won a scholarship from the Vancouver International Jazz Festival to study in Boston. She was discovered by Ray Brown who was her manager and mentor until he died in 2004. Krall formed her trio and released her first album "Stepping Out" (1990). Her second album comes out in 1994 "Only Trust Your Heart". Krall's next work “Love Scene (1997) ranked her as one of the best jazz of all time. She has won three Grammys, eight Juno Awards, nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum records.
