David Keith Lynch is an American writer, actor, painter, artist, and filmmaker who was born on January 20, 1946, Missoula, Montana, U.S. David enrolled himself in the school of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. His first film was a 60-second animation entitled Six-Man getting sick for a painting contest. Lynch experiments with a mix of animation and live-action, producing the 4- minute short The Alphabet. Later he became a student of AFI. His first feature film was Eraser Head. During that time, Lynch faced many financial problems. AFI gave a $10000 grant, but it was not sufficient to complete the film. The fearful mood of Philadelphia heavily influenced the film. Reviewers from New york city rejected it, but later, with Ben’s help, the film was distributed in the US and gained popularity.After this, Elephant Man was a massive success along with other projects like Hill Street Blues and Twin peaks.
