Dara Torres is an American swimmer, who was born on 15th April 1967. She is famous for having won as many as 12 Olympic medals. She is also a former world record holder in three events. In 2008 Torres became the first swimmer to have represented the United States of America in five Olympic events (1984, 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2008). She is also one of the oldest athletes to have been part of the USA’s Olympic team. In the 2008 Olympics, Torres secured a silver medal in three events: 50-meter freestyle, 4x100 m freestyle relay, and 4x100 m medley relay. Her achievements are almost surreal for her age. Outside of swimming, Torres is a celebrity and an influencer, who has worked as a reporter for major channels like NBC, ESPN, OLN, TNT, and Fox News Channel.
