Danny Boyle
Based out of Lancashire, England, Daniel Francis Boyle was born on October 20, 1956. He started his career as a director by working with the Joint Stock Theatre Company right after graduating from college. He eventually moved on to the Royal Court Theatre in 1982, where he directed his first play, ‘The Genius’ by Howard Brenton, and ‘Saved’ by Edward Bond. Boyle instantly gained appreciation from the critics for his work and was hired to direct five productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company. He eventually ventured into the world of television drama and began producing BBC’s ‘Elephant’, and directed shows like ‘Arise and Go Now’, ‘For The Greater Good’, and ‘Not Even God Is Wise Enough’. Boyle also directed his first feature film, ‘Shallow Grave’ in 1995. His directing debut was a huge success and even won the BAFTA Award for Best British Film and ‘The Best Newcomer Award’ at the 1996 London Film Critics Circle. He collaborated with Richard Curtis on the 2019 film ‘Yesterday’.
