Gregory Oliver Hines was a famous actor, dancer, singer, and choreographer born on February 14, 1946, in New York. He is a widely known dancer who appeared on The Cotton Club (1984), Wolfen (1981), Will & Grace (1999-2000), and The Gregory Hines Show (1997-1998). Gregory received a Screen Actors Guild Award Nomination along with four Primetime Emmy Nominations. His movie debut was in 1981 when he appeared in History of the World, Part I. He is best known for his performances in The Cotton Club, White Nights, and Tap. He shared the screen with several renowned celebrities like Sammy Davis Jr, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Whitney Houston, Loretta Devine, and many more. He went on to focus on his dancing career and received immense recognition soon after he began his journey. He has been a member of the American Tap Dance Foundation and was responsible for creating National Tap Dance Day in May 1989. He had also appeared in the Broadway musical comedy The Girl in Pink Tights in 1954.
