Born as Gilliam Chynna Phillips in Los Angeles on February 12, 1968 Chynna kicked off her acting career by taking up minor roles in feature films such as ‘Say Anything’, ‘Caddyshack II’, and ‘Some Kind Of Wonderful '. The recognition that she garnered from these performances bagged her the role of the title character Roxanne Pulitzer in a biographical film titled ‘Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer’ in 1989. Philips shortly took a break from all public appearances and did not resurface until several years later. She returned to acting with her portrayal of Kim MacAfee in the television feature film ‘Bye Bye Birdie’. Apart from her acting career, Philips also formed a musical trio called ‘Wilson Phillips’ with her friends Carnie and Wendy Wilson. Their debut album sold eight million copies worldwide, paving the way for their platinum-certified second album. She was last seen in the 2011 comedy movie ‘Bridesmaids’, where she portrayed herself.
