Mon. when she was studying at Kent State University. She worked at an architectural firm for eight months before pursuing music as her career. She is the founder of the band Pretenders, formed in 1978, alongside drummer Martin Chambers, bassist Pete Farndon, and guitarist James Honeyman Scott.
