Hailing from Germany, Barbara Sukowa is a renowned actor who started her career in theatre. Director Rainer Werner Fassbinder launched her in his television shows and films, Women in New York (1977) and Berlin Alexanderplatz (1980). In 1981, she starred in Rainer's Lola.
