Born in Belgrade, Siberia in July 1984, New York-based Ana Kras is an illustrator, painter, furniture maker, photographer, and model. She graduated from the University of Applied Arts and has been working on multiple commissioned and personal projects since. Ana became a known name in the designer world after showing her Bonbon lamp at Salone Satellite in Milan 2010. Ana’s 2015 work for the ‘Matter Made’, the Slon line, showcases a unique amalgamation of two simple forms – a slab and a tube, which she then turns into tables. The whimsical approach to any of her projects offers her craft an exclusive variation. Her work demonstrates minimalism which is combined with sculpture and craft aesthetics. Pastel colors add to the visual charm. She has also designed the cover of the Zeit Magazine Design Issue for April 2020 and her work has also been featured on magazine covers like ‘Apartamento’, issue 21. She has also published a book of photographs titled ‘Ana Kraš: Ikebana Albums’. Ana has showcased her work across the world.
