American TV journalist Alycia Lane is a native of Lake Grove in New York, born on 10 May 1972. She received her master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at the North-Western University. During that time, Lane started her TV career as a reporter from Washington DC for KSNT in Kansas. After completing her studies, she returned to New York and joined the News 12 Bronx Team, where she served as an anchor. One of her breakthrough moments in her career was covering the shooting of the African immigrant Amadou Diallo who was shot dead by the NYPD. In 2000, she then moved to Miami and worked as a reporter for a Fox affiliate channel, WSVN. In 2002, she moved once again but this time to Philadelphia where she worked for CBS-owned KYW-TV. In 2003, she was paired with Larry Mendte for the 11 o’clock newscast. Alycia Lane is a celebrated journalist with several Emmy Awards to her credit and even two Golden Mic Awards for her work at KNBC.
