English musician, songwriter, journalist, and cheesemaker Alex James brings many talents to the table. Born in Bournemouth, he is a self-taught guitarist. In 1988, Alex formed the band ‘Circus’ while studying at Goldsmiths College. The following year, he started a new band called Seymour, which would later be known as Blur. Alex James became famous as the band's sassy bass guitarist. In addition to touring with Blur, Alex has also been part of many collaborative ventures. In 1998, he collaborated with Damien Hirst and Keith Allen to form ‘Fat Les’, which was released in the U.K. Singles Chart hit titled ‘Vindaloo’. Alex James is also a gifted writer as he contributes to a weekly column in ‘The Sun’ titled, ‘Alex James on All Things Food’. Taking his passion for food forward, he also started a well-known brand of artisan cheese varieties named ‘Good Queen Maude’, ‘Blue Monday’, ‘Goddess’, ‘Farleigh Wallop’, and ‘Little Wallop’.
