Ilka Bessin is a comedian and actress born on November 18, 1971 in Luckenwalde, Germany. She worked as a Chef until the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 and Germany was Unified. She also worked as a Bartender, Hotel Manager, and Chief clerk until 1999, changing many careers. In the early 2000's she entered the world of entertainment as Cindy From Marzhan — an Overweight, Unemployed girl from Berlin-Marzahn with a preference for Pink clothes. This character made her one of the most successful comedians in Germany. In 2004 she won the Quatsch Comedy Club Standup Comedy Show. In 2016 Ilka gave up the fictional character and started doing the shows as herself. In 2019 she gave her first solo program 'Makeup and Still Funny' as herself. She even started her fashion label and is committed to socially disadvantaged families. Ilka published her biography called Abgeschminkt.
