Dorothy Hamill is a former ice skater born on July 26, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. She was the 1976 Olympic and world champion in figure skating in female solos.Hamill has had significant experiences during her career. She won the women's rookie title at the US championship at the age of 12. That same year she was invited to perform at Madison Square Garden with the exhibition tour. She was the United States Champion from 1974 to 1976; she is given a movement for artistic skating called the “Hamill Camel”. In 1993 she was voted together with Mary Lou Retton as the most popular celebrity in the United States. She was also a special guest on the Brian Boitano-Barry Manilow skating show at AT&T Park in San Francisco in 2007. She has participated in different television shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Food Network Chopped, and Star Power: Culinary Muscle.
