British drummer and actress Tennessee Thomas started her music career while still in high school with a band named ‘The Like’. All members of the band belonged to affluent music families. One of her career highlights was deejaying at the New York Fashion Week in 2011, which became her stepping stone to a career as an independent artist. An outright feminist, Thomas used her influence as a musician to bring out intense issues like women’s rights in political spaces. During this time, she also featured in two films, one of which was ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’. Thomas even appeared in a music video that featured Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart, and Brie Larson. In 2016, she formed a new band with Erika Forster and Jenny Lewis, called ‘Nice as Fuck’. This band helped her carry forward her activism, including campaigns for Bernie Sanders and using her pop-up clothing store ‘Deep End Club’ for this purpose.
