Bio

If you had to put a face on God, it would be Morgan Freeman’s. His thundering voice and towering personality have landed him the role of the ‘big guy upstairs’ three times. Right after high school, Morgan Freeman signed up to become a pilot for the US Military after turning down a drama scholarship. But, when the job turned out to be quite different from what he imagined, he left the army in 1959 and began to take acting classes. He struggled for years before finally getting his breakthrough role in ‘Hello, Dolly’, an African American Broadway production. The rest is history. It was the film ‘Street Smart’ that changed his life. It earned him an Oscar nomination. Within two years, he had a second Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor as well. In the year 2012, the Golden Globe honored him with a Cecil B DeMille Award for his outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment.
