Zinedine Yazid Zidane, popularly known as Zizou, is a French professional football manager and a former Real Madrid coach. Zinedine was born on June 23, 1972 in La Castellane, Marseille, France. He is a three-time Fifa World Player of the year who led France to victory in the 1998 World Cup. He also starred in clubs for France, Italy, and Spain. He was expelled from the 2006 world cup after headbutting his opponent. His first appearance at Cannes was at the age of 17. In 2001 Zidane signed with Spanish club Real Madrid for a record fee of more than $66 million. Zidane helped Real Madrid win the coveted UEFA Champions League title in his first year and La Liga the following season.
